Khichdi has a special place in every Indian's heart. After all, it is - the first solid food served to babies, Prasad offered to deities and, the quintessential comfort food. Bhaat.in is our effort to bring back this powerhouse of nutrients back into mainstream culture.
Taste and texture exactly like the mumbai khichdi with adequate spices and condiments.
Protip: have it with chopped onions and Dhaniya in curd (raita) to transport yourself back to Mumbai.
Mom's a really specific eater. She's not a critic by any means, but she does enjoy a few foods. So when she went on and on about this khichdi, I was pleasantly surprised.
She has zero tolerance to spice, due to an extremely sensitive stomach. But she just loved the Moong Dal Khichdi.
We find the Khichdis light, tasty and very healthy. They taste like freshly homemade khichdis. Good variety of different dishes of the khichdis. And it is very easy to open the package and get it ready to eat.The products are well packed.
I had similar bajra khichdi in Pratapgarh Haryana.
Simple, no spices yet so tasty.
Authentic taste and the appropriate amount of veggies. Loved its simplicity and the flavor of ghee.
One thing that struck me during my study at IIM Ahmedabad was the demanding routine that students had. Many a times students ended up having chips or instant noodles to avoid the repetitive food at the mess. A study trip to London, where I majorly survived on cold or frozen food, made me realise the richness of food we have in our culture and the relevance of home comfort meals.
And thus, was born the idea of BHAAT – bringing authentic ‘Khichadi’ from various states of India into mainstream culture.
