Our 'Heat & Eat' Mumbai style khichdi is made with rice, pigeon peas (tur dal), yellow lentils (moong dal), the goodness of vegetables, tempered with ghee & in-house spices for a wholesome meal. 

Khichdi, in Northern India, is merely limited to home cooking, but in Mumbai, most of the restaurants have it on the menus as well. And they have done an exceptional job with the extra tadka, which makes khichdi additionally suited for the taste palette than gut.

We prepare our Mumbai Dal Khichdi Tadka in small batches. This delicious meal is a blend of rice, lentils, fresh veggies like onion, ginger, garlic, tomato, desi ghee, mustard oil, and in house spices like coriander seeds, red chili, unripened dried mango, cumin, fennel, black pepper, cardamom, star anise, nutmeg and more.

Pigeon peas are an excellent source of iron and protein. And Yellow Lentils are a rich source of protein and are low in calories. We add the best quality ghee- 100% natural, unlike other products you may find in the market, that use palm oil or refined oil. Desi Ghee provides our body with essential fats and omega-3. Turmeric has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. In the end, we temper the khichdi with extra tadka, made with desi ghee, red chilies, curry leaves, and garlic.
